Katie & CJ's fall Newbury backyard wedding

One of my favorite things about weddings is the venues. Not just because it's fun to be in pretty places, but because most couples choose places that are important to them and significant to their story. Sometimes the venue is a harkening back to a childhood love (like Matt & Alex's Yosemite wedding!) and sometimes it's significant to their story together. For Katie & CJ, their venue - their gorgeous, tree-filled backyard of the first home they owned together - marked the beginning of their new life together.

Despite a classically rainy New England day, Katie & CJ's October wedding was a beautiful and deeply personal celebration. Their ceremony was attended by a small group of their closest friends and family, and the rest of the guests rolled in for cocktail hour, toasts, and a dance party that went late into the night.
