Shruti & Felix's Wedding | Beautiful multicultural wedding at the DeCordova Sculpture Museum

Updated: Sep 23, 2022

I first met with Shruti & Felix over a year ago, and despite being over a year away from their wedding, they were bursting with excitement as they shared about the wedding day they were thoughtfully designing. After visiting the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, they'd been "bowled over" by how beautiful and interesting the space was. "It feels like our little secret," Shruti said, "and we can't wait to share it with our friends!

Their wedding day, a "thoroughly non-traditional" event that brought together family and friends from across the world, was vibrant and artistic and unique. When I think back on Shruti & Felix's day, two particular memories come to mind: First, the couple included all of their bridal party's partners in the group photos! It was a beautiful recognition of partnership and how we're all shaped into the people we are by our communities. Second, their ceremony was wittily and thoughtfully officiated by two friends, who quipped and had us laughing as if we'd all known each other for years. Felix revealed afterwards that these two friends hadn't previously known each other - but they spent an hour every week for months on Skype, getting to know each other so as to do justice for their friends' big day. All together, their day was a testament to the power of friendship, of love, and community - and an absolute joy to witness.
